Demka Dairy, a leading milk processor based in Nyeri and Murang'a counties, has been proudly serving the community for over a decade. We take pride in our rich heritage of producing premium-quality products.
Every day, we partner with over 5,000 dedicated farmers to source fresh raw milk, which we expertly process into a variety of high-quality dairy products, including yoghurt, cheese, butter, and mala.
Demka dairy was started in 2011 with only 15 pioneer farmers/members. Chinga Othaya town was the only milk collection center while othaya and kiriaini town were the only markets. At the start, the few liters of milk collected were sold to hotels in the then upcoming othaya and its environs.
Nairobi was our third market after Othaya and Kiriaini. The businss of pasteurizing fresh milk and subsequently selling through processord continued for almost 2 years until 2016 when a yoghurt production plant was commisioned.
The need to diversify from milk products was clear due to untapped markets in high alue products. A yoghurt facility was set up to process the high value products. Strawberry and vanilla brands were introduced.
